The Black Law Students Association and Muslim Link Present:

“The Interruptors”
——————————————————————————-
“Violence is like a disease, it spreads from one person to another. To cure it, you need to interrupt it.”

Join us in a screening of the critically acclaimed and award-winning documentary “The Interrupters”.

This powerful documentary follows CeaseFire, a Chicago-based group — staffed by former gang members — that is dedicated to wiping out urban violence. The organization treats violence like an infection and seeks to eradicate the root cause.

Local youth and community members are invited to participate in a dialogue about violence, how it effects their lives, and how they can make a positive difference in their own communities.

They will also have the opportunity to meet and be inspired by Danardo Jones, a Black Canadian lawyer from Toronto who went from dealing drugs in high school to going on to finish university as a Straight A student and graduate from Law School!

The event will be facilitated by Muslim Link’s Editor in Chief Chelby Daigle.
