WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Anyone interested and working in the areas of women’s equality/rights, human rights, Indigenous rights, including civil servants, policy analysts, elected officials, academics, researchers, journalists, NGOs, advocates, community groups.

OBJECTIVES:

–        Convene an academic space for exchange, discussion, and analysis of knowledge associated with social research, political, cultural, and multipolar key areas

–        Look at the impact of national and international affairs on women’s overall human development, including spiritual, academic, family, and professional factors, with particular emphasis on the most vulnerable groups

–        Promote new areas of ways of evaluating women’s human and political dimensions based on respect and recognition of their needs for justice, equality, and development.

–        Generate strategies that could help reduce current obstacles to gender equality and showcase governmental, public, and private initiatives on this subject.

–        Create a networking opportunity for women working on equality rights and advocacy.

And ultimately, achieve, through a collective learning process, the creation of approaches, the promotion of educational spaces, the civic participation and inclusion of community in all aspects of society.

Topics to be considered over the course of the program include: women’s rights, children’s rights, violence against women, women and poverty, women’s political participation and mechanisms used for such, women’s programs, women’s realities within current contexts, social missions & Aboriginal communities (i.e. Venezuela as case study), women and the environment.
