Forum Entertainment: Cobra du Mandingue drum and dance company
July 15, 2013Cobra du Mandingue, a group from the Ottawa region inspired by West-African rhythms, particularly from Guinea-Conakry, featured an unforgettable musical performance at the 2nd Annual Ottawa Immigration Forum.
Cobra du Mandingue is comprised of talented and diverse artists of diverse backgrounds – they are men and women, dancers and drummers, black and white, brought together by shared passion and experience in walking together along the paths of Guinea.
Cobra du Mandingue brought their energy to the Forum participants capturing everyone’s focus momentarily with the invigorating rhythms of the drums, and the movement of African-style choreography and costumes.
Cobra’s lively cultural performance added to the celebratory mood of the Forum, as participants returned from a break filled with connections with colleagues and delicious refreshments.
