Discover Community: Neighborhood Walking Tours the Latest Addition to the WOW Program

December 12, 2016

WOW (2)OLIP partnered with the City of Ottawa, Heritage Ottawa, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to develop a pilot program of walking tours, designed to enable people to discover the rich history of immigration and the current thriving diversity that is lived daily in our city’s neighborhoods.

The 2016 pilot tours of Chinatown and Little Italy were led by knowledgeable guides from these neighborhoods. Participants’ feedback in our evaluations survey showed that the Walks are well liked, and that there is a demand from Ottawa residents to go on journeys of discovery of Ottawa’s unique neighborhoods.
