Ottawa Local Immigration Partnership (OLIP) is hosting a series of equity-focused trainings to support members of the Equity Ottawa partnership in their journey to making their organizations more equitable.
Among these trainings, OLIP will conduct two full-day, in-person Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Training on April 9 and April 10, 2026. Designed specifically for senior leaders and service providers, this interactive training will equip participants with practical tools to meaningfully shift organizational culture, policies, and practices through anti-racism and anti-oppression principles. Participants will deepen their understanding, strengthen their leadership capacity, and explore actionable strategies to advance equity within their organizations and across the sector.
Additionally, OLIP will offer an Equitable Progress Monitoring Workshop, guiding participants on how to effectively implement progress monitoring tools. This workshop will provide attendees with opportunities to share best practices and discuss challenges within their organizations. The workshop is scheduled for two sessions: the French session on April 23 and the English session on April 24, 2026.
In a time marked by rising hate, anti-immigrant sentiment, and the growing normalization of exclusion and oppression, these trainings are more urgent than ever. As leaders serving immigrants and racialized communities, we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to stand firmly against harmful narratives and foster inclusive, equitable systems of support.
Please note: This training is open to Equity Ottawa partners only. If your organization is interested in becoming a member, please contact Yusra Osman at yusra@olip-plio.ca for more information.
