We need evidence about barriers to HIV testing before and after people try to get tested. This information will help improve policies and practices for fairer HIV testing. From May to October 2017, we did face-to-face interviews with twenty young heterosexual African migrants from countries with high HIV rates. The group included fourteen men and six women, aged 18 to 29, to identify barriers to accessing HIV testing services in Ottawa.
