Factors Associated with Feeding Practices of Black Immigrant Mothers of African and Caribbean Origin Living in Ottawa, Canada

In Canada, Black immigrant women and their children have a higher risk of developing obesity. Factors that can influence children’s weight include parental feeding practices. Practices like monitoring, restriction, and pressure to eat are well studied in non-Hispanic White and Latino groups. However, little is known about the feeding practices of Black immigrant parents from Africa and the Caribbean. This study aimed to identify factors linked to the feeding practices of Black immigrant mothers in Ottawa, Canada.
