For a few years now I’ve been tracking interesting digital programs/projects in the Canadian immigrant and refugee-serving sector. Among those are smartphone apps. A growing number have emerged over the years and I wanted to share them here. This is a list of Canadian-specific apps.
You can find international efforts on the Basefugees site (requires a free account). And one from Ottawa as well that suggests the importance of social media as a tool used for settlement, and how service providers should be meeting Newcomers in these spaces: “Findings point to the potential benefits of using ICTs and social media to complement, develop and consolidate the provision of resettlement services.
