The Language Sector Table focuses on Ottawa’s language training and interpretation services. It supports access to essential human services in a bilingual city where training in both official languages is crucial.
Make federal and provincial language courses better meet the needs of English and French-speaking immigrants.
Offer special language programs for at-risk groups and train instructors to understand their challenges.
Provide more specialized language training based on what communities and learners need.
Help Ottawa’s language training providers advocate for improvements, including workplace language training.
Increase access to interpretation services for legal, health, and social services.
