Caroline Lester will facilitate a workshop titled “Equity in the classroom: A student rights perspective” on Wednesday, March 27th from 1:00-2:00pm. The workshop will take place at the University of Ottawa Main Campus in the Faculty of Social Sciences Building(120 University) room 4006. Caroline Lester has worked for the Centre for Equity and Human Rights since 2008. She has been a Student Rights Advocate at the Centre since 2011.

The Centre for Equity and Human Rights (CEHR), a service of the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO), operates with a dual mandate of student rights education and advocacy. CEHR’s advocacy mandate is guided by the Ontario Human Rights Code as well as best practices captured by the Ontario Human Rights Commission. The Centre advocates for student rights in both systemic issues and individual cases. CEHR’s educational mandate includes human rights training, namely for the general student population; student leaders; or personalized group sessions. It also host events and campaigns, such as the annual Diversity and Accessibility on campus (DAC) conference.
