The Pathways to Prosperity Partnership will hold its second annual conference at the Delta Hotel in downtown Montreal starting at 8:30 a.m. on November 24th and finishing at 5:00 p.m. on November 25th, with Board and Standing Committee meetings on November 26th.
The conference immediately precedes the Fall Consultation Conference of the Canadian Council for Refugees in Gatineau, Quebec for those who may be interested in attending both meetings.
Who Should Attend
Attendees will include P2P researchers, settlement agency representatives, LIP and RIF coordinators, graduate students, and policy and program officials from the three orders of government.
P2P is pleased to announce that we are not charging registration fees for conference attendance.
In response to the feedback received from delegates at last year’s conference, the 2014 P2P conference will include 6 plenary sessions, 11 workshops and roundtable discussions, and a poster session :
Plenaries
- Regionalization and immigration to communities outside of metropolises
- Overview of the P2P co-investigator led projects to be launched this fall
- Pre-arrival services and information
- Evaluation strategies for place-based networks, including Local Immigration Partnerships, Réseaux en immigration francophone, and other place-based networks
- Official language minority immigrants
- Changing entry pathways, including students, temporary workers, and transition classes
Workshops and Roundtable Discussions
- Research priorities for Northern, smaller, and remote communities
- Availability and use of large-scale datasets
- Funding opportunities and Mitacs internships
- Research priorities for Francophone immigration
- Agency of the Future
- Quebec research priorities
- Ontario research priorities
- Atlantic research priorities

Discussion of the CIC Jurisdictional Summits
A session to discuss the CIC jurisdictional summits held this fall will be conducted on the evening of November 24th.
Poster Session
In addition, on the evening of November 24th, a poster session accompanying a cocktail reception will be held to showcase the work of P2P members. See below for details on how to submit a poster proposal.
Submitting a Poster Proposal
In order to submit a poster proposal, please send the following information to admin@P2PCanada.ca by September 30th: Full name of authors, Affiliations, Poster title, Maximum 100 word abstract. We must receive your submission by September 30th in order for it to be considered. Acceptance of posters will be announced by October 15th.
