The Anti-Carding Action Project is inviting Ottawans to an information session on carding taking place on October 9th at 601 Cumberland, room 307 (uOttawa Graduate Student Building) from 6 to 9 pm.
Please join us in organizing against the current effort to regulate street checks (i.e. carding) in Ottawa. We strongly believe that carding as a policing tool legitimizes racial profiling and legalizes the unlawful harassment of racialized Canadians, indigenous peoples, and low-income communities in the name of public safety.
Calling for an end to carding in Ottawa will require the combined effort of Ottawans dedicated to social justice.
We invite you to join us on October 9th to learn more on the issue of carding as it unfolds in Ottawa, and the current efforts being undertaken to legalize and regulate its usage. We hope that the presentation by the various panelists will lead to a participatory discussion on how we can best combine and coordinate our efforts to end carding in Ottawa.

In Solidarity,

The Anti-Carding Action Project
