In Our Words – Ethnic Karen Youth Stories of Resettlement

This event will focus on the Karen refugees who began to resettle in Ottawa as Government assisted refugees in 2006. It will be a photo/art exhibit following their journey from the refugee camps and over 10 years.
Further it will be a book launch of 5 books that were written by Karen youth in Karen with English translation. These books talk about resettlement and how they found their way through it. Their stories are relevant to youth and adults alike who are trying to find their way in Canada.
