The Community Cup is hosted by the Catholic Centre for Immigrants and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
The Community Cup has always focused on inclusivity, connecting people, and building a welcoming community. The Community Cup focusses on: Connections through volunteering and Physical activity and sports for positive mental health and building networks.
The Community Cup is…
- A free multi-generational and multicultural community building, activity filled, day-long event designed to engage the community and reduce isolation and challenges faced by many newcomers;
- A recreational co-ed soccer tournament bridging and connecting cultures, ethnicities, and generations;
- A celebration of our welcoming communities with food and entertainment, interactive demonstration sports and dance, and other family activities;
- A place for over 2000 community members to come together with their families, friends, or by themselves to get active, enjoy a day in the park, and get connected;
- An opportunity to “make the strange familiar” and meet some new people;
- A Friend-Raiser (not a Fundraiser);
- A perfect way to kick-off your Canada Day weekend! Come and be inspired, build or show off your civic pride!
