Hosted by the Institute for Research on Public Policy, and in partnership with the Canadian Labour Market and Skills Researcher Network, the upcoming conference entitled “The Policy Implications of Growing Income Inequality in Canada” will take place at the Delta City Centre Hotel in Ottawa, Ontario on February 24 -25, 2014.

This two-day conference is part of a joint IRPP-CLSRN research initiative to provide new evidence on the causes and effects of growing income inequality in Canada, assess the impact of past and present policies, and propose policy directions for the future. The event will bring together leading experts in the field with policy-makers and other stakeholders to contribute to the ongoing debate on this issue of central importance to the future of Canadian society.

The keynote speaker will be David Autor from MIT. Currently a visiting professor at Harvard University, David Autor has written extensively on earnings inequality and the labour market impacts of technological change and globalization.
