The involvement of parents in their children’s education is important for the academic success and wellbeing of students. Such involvement enables parents to become aware of how the school system works and the kind of support their children need.

As an immigrant parent of school going children, we would like to hear your views and ideas on parental engagement in the children’s education. We would like to know what parental engagement means to you.  Hence, we are cordially inviting you to join us for a unique and exciting opportunity to engage in conversation and share your ideas in a discussion forum organized by Ottawa Community Immigrant Serving Organization (OCISO) and Ottawa Local Immigrant Partnership (OLIP).

Your knowledge and insight would be used to develop a parental engagement guideline for School Boards in Ottawa.

The discussion will be held on Saturday April 11th, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
