Forging Roots in the City

The Immigrant and Refugee Communities Campaign of the Neighbours, Friends and Families initiative (IRCNFF) is an Ontario-wide campaign coordinated by the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) since 2012. IRCNFF raises awareness about domestic violence and promotes bystander intervention in immigrant communities. One way IRCNFF does this is through a Peer Champion program, an initiative that we, the undersigned, are proud to be part of here in Ottawa.  After being chosen from a province-wide selection process and attending a training session in Toronto, we are very excited to be organizing and delivering six public education events tailored to Latin American immigrant women, and their allies, here in Ottawa.
