The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board invites you to be a special guest at “A Date with Diversity” on the Anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms

When: April 17th, 2013, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Where: Hampton Inn, 100 Coventry Road

Theme: Connecting Communities for Student Success

As one of our special guests, you will share your personal journey and insights into our ongoing conversation: what are the conditions necessary to foster an equitable and inclusive culture to support learning, well-being and a sense of belonging for the OCDSB community?*  Our staff, student and community participants will then have an opportunity to ask you questions about your life experiences as it relates to different dimensions of diversity.

If you are with a community organization or agency that has resources that could enhance the District’s capacity to serve an increasingly diverse student and parent population, a resource table can be provided for you upon request.

Over the last five years, the OCDSB has been engaged in expanding its connection with the communities it serves and to enhance engagement with its staff and students though a workforce census and student survey respectively. A Backgrounder on OCDSB’s Diversity Journey over the last five years is attached for your information.

If you are available and interested in being one of our special guests, please contact Jacqueline Lawrence at jacqueline.lawrence@ocdsb.ca or 613 596-8211, extension 8819 by Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

We look forward to being in conversation with you.

* OCDSB community includes students, parents/guardians, trustees, staff, contractors, and service providers, volunteers and community members.
