Please join me and other residents of Ottawa Centre on July 27th to input your ideas into the International Assistance Review process. As you may know, my colleague and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, Marie-Claude Bibeau, has launched a consultation process on how Canada delivers international assistance programming. The goal is to rethink our policies and programs to ensure we reach the poorest and most vulnerable, especially women and girls. International assistance is a topic of special importance to me, and I believe it is critical to hear the views of individual Canadians on how our government should be delivering it.
We will start with a presentation, and then ask you for your constructive ideas about:
a. Health and rights of women and children.
b. Clean economic growth and climate change.
c. Governance, pluralism, diversity and human rights.
d. Peace and security.
e. Responding to humanitarian crises and the needs of displaced populations.
f. Delivering results: improving effectiveness and transparency, innovation, partnerships.
