OLIP Partners Welcome Alex Munter as the 2nd Chair of the OLIP Council

Alex MunterAlex Munter assumed the role of Chair of the OLIP Council in May 2016, after Dick Stewart completed his four-year appointed term. As Chair of the OLIP Council, Alex will preside over multi-sectoral collaborations through the Partnership’s community-wide governance process, aimed at building Ottawa’s capacity to attract, settle, and integrate immigrants. Alex joins the Partnership at a critical time of multiple transitions, including the transition into a new phase of planning and action, and significant growth in the number of refugees in Ottawa.

Beyond his leadership and championship of the OLIP partnership, Alex is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), bringing more than 20 years of leadership experience in health and social services. Alex was also Chief Executive Officer of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), and Executive Director of the Youth Services Bureau (YSB).  Prior to taking on these CEO roles, Alex was a City and Regional Councillor in Ottawa for 12 years, including six as head of the city’s health and social services. Alex has won numerous awards from a wide range of organizations for his contributions to the community and is a proud member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
