Since 2019, this study looks at the resettlement of Syrian refugees. It explores the factors that helped or hurt their resilience and integration in Gatineau, a medium-sized city near Ottawa. The study considers the human resources that supported refugees, such as professionals, sponsors, and civil society. It also looks at the policies and services they accessed. We examine how these factors affected their journeys related to housing, learning French, employment, socializing, and long-term settlement.
