According to a 2008 report by the Social Planning Council of Ottawa, many immigrants felt that schools contributed to their sense of exclusion in society. This paper explores training topics that could help include immigrants in schools. It also questions whether teacher training can really make a difference. The views of three teachers from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board are discussed. Additionally, the paper looks at other ways to improve inclusion.
