The RNIP is designed to address aging populations, declining birth rates, and shrinking labor markets in Canada’s smaller communities. Canada’s federal government has chosen 11 communities to be part of the new Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. Six of these communities are from Ontario, two are from British Columbia, and one each is from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta.
