Ottawa police officers have used force more often against people they believed were Black, Indigenous, or Middle Eastern. This is according to a report from the first year of collecting race-based data. The findings from 2020 were shared on Thursday at a meeting of the Ottawa Police Services Board’s policy and governance committee.
